Catherine & Ryan, The Lofts at Union Square

Catherine and Ryan went on a blind date eight years ago. Their wedding day is the culmination of two young individuals spending eight years growing, learning, laughing, overcoming, and, most importantly, loving. The joy that radiates from these two love-birds is infectious. From their first look at their church through the dancing at The Lofts at Union Square, I promise you will feel like you know them because you will find your self smiling at their happiness.

Catherine & Glen, North Carolina Museum of Art

“Catherine has always marched to the beat of her own drum and she was just looking for someone who danced to the very same beat and that’s when Glen came along.” These words were spoken by Catherine’s sister, Sarah, and I think that is such a sweet way to describe someone finding the love of their life. Catherine and Glen are so in sync with each other, it is truly beautiful to see. Their couples footage at the park of the North Carolina Museum of Art is a work of art in itself. The park sculptures against the barren December landscape, provide the most stunning backdrop for Catherine and Glen to soak up their first moments as husband and wife. Check out this film to see these two people, who were clearly made for each other, say “I DO”!

Taylor & Tres: Washington Duke Inn

“Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.”  This statement spoken by the father of the bride is the only way to describe Taylor and Tres’s perfect wedding day. When Hurricane Matthew decided to send down buckets of rain and hair twirling wind, Taylor and Tres embraced the unplanned conditions and literally ‘danced in the rain’. Having met at Duke University, the Duke Chapel and the Washington Duke Inn served as the perfect backdrops for their nuptials, football tailgate, and rockin’ reception. While many elements of their day could be categorized under “magical”, the highlight of the night was decidedly, the father of the bride’s toast. Mr. Starks told the most beautiful story about a question that Taylor had asked him when she was little. The answer to that question will make your heart swell and bring you to tears!

Emma & Matt: Duke Chapel

“Here is my little advice on what a successful marriage takes… and it takes that you fall in love very many times with the same person.”

Emma and Matt’s day was a range of emotions – from tear-jerking handwritten letters to laughter-inducing toasts, we dare you not to feel some of the same joy and excitement Emma & Matt felt on their wedding day. Not only are these two clearly in love with each other, it is also obvious they have become each others best friend. We loved Emma’s sassy humor and Matt’s thoughtfulness and love for football!
