Rebecca & Alex: Summerfield Farms

Forget chocolate and flowers, this Valentine’s day Alex and Rebecca’s Summerfield Farms wedding film is making us have full on heart eyes! Their ceremony took place under the big tree at Summerfield Farms and I can’t think of a more romantic spot. Their guests rode out to the site behind a tractor and settled in their seats to witness Alex and Rebecca’s loving commitment become permanent. To celebrate, everyone gathered on the rooftop of the barn for some cocktails and conversation, and then moved the party into the barn for memorable dancing. My favorite part of the day has to be the time that Rebecca and Alex took to enjoy the perfect sunset out in the fields. The light was magical and they got to bask in married bliss before heading into the barn to dance the night away.

Stephanie & Aaron: 214 Martin

Stephanie and Aaron, pharmacists and college sweethearts, designed their day around the thing that they love to do most with each other: discover and enjoy craft beer. 214 Martin was decked out with wooden center pieces (handmade by the groom) which featured their favorite brews, string lights, and, my favorite piece, a wooden sign that read “True Love is a Big Deal”. While the wedding decor brought everyone into their world, Stephanie and Aaron’s handwritten vows are as perfect as it gets. Both emotional and funny, they poured their hearts out to each other and left no one in doubt that their ‘Love is a Big Deal’.

Sarah + Jason: “It’s True, We Eloped!” – A Freehand Film

Entirely different from our typical style of filming and editing, we introduce what we like to call, a Freehand Film! (available upon request). After checking out this film, take time to skim through our portrayal below of the most fun day we ever had filming!

To say this film is different from our typical 21 Films productions would definitely be an understatement! We certainly broke our own rule of “no hand-held shots” with this one and created what we like to call our own “Freehand Film”! On top of that, this was our very first Elopement Day Wedding we have captured and no offense to anyone, but this was by far our most enjoyable day of filming we have ever had! Sarah and Jason, who are the owners of Fox Squirrel Farm, approached us in January about their desire to skip all the wedding planning and just wanted to get hitched….on leap day no less! We were so excited to eventually learn they had chosen us to capture this special day for them! With a few suggestions from Sarah and Jason as to the style of film they were looking for, we were very eager to get started.

We began our filming around 9:30am at the beautiful Fearrington Village in Pittsboro NC as some light showers started to fall. Sarah got her hair done at The Village Beauty Shop while Jason walked their dogs, Darien & Delilah, and wrote his personal vows to Sarah in their room. After they each got dressed and ready (separately), the rain held off for a beautiful “First Look” in front of the Fearrington Barn before they jumped into their borrowed cobalt blue ’59 Chevy pickup truck! From Fearrington, Jess and I followed Sarah and Jason through Hillsborough to Cedar Grove, NC to visit Leah Cook at Wild Hare Farm so they could pick out and put together their own bouquet and boutineer. Sarah’s bouquet was finished off by being wrapped in a piece of her mother’s wedding dress and significant pendants were attached. After a cold Miller toast, we headed back to Hillsborough and visited Weaver Street Market where they picked out their wedding day dessert. Then, they headed upstairs to sign their Marriage License followed by a short walk to the Magistrate’s Office in downtown Hillsborough to make it official! Thankfully, the computer in the Magistrate’s cinderblock walled office was being worked on so after a few signatures and payment (Jess and I were their 2 witnesses), we headed to the perfect location…the old Courtroom in the historic Orange County Courthouse which was built in 1845 to perform the ceremony! It was absolutely perfect…we could tell that Sarah and Jason did not have another care in the world at that moment but to say ‘I Do’ to each other. At 3:20pm, they were married! After several moments of celebration, they walked over to The Wooden Nickel for a celebratory shot! This world is filled with some great people with one of them being the gentleman sitting outside of the bar who generously took the tab for the newlyweds! After Sarah sent a once-in-a-lifetime text to her best friend Katie ‘Just Married’, we all headed back down the road to Fearrington Village where the clouds had broken and the sun was shining! We met up with their photographer Carisa Chee to take a few images in front of the Fearrington Barn as Sarah and Jason read their personal, hand written vows to each other (WoW!). After a few more shots in front of the Chevy, we called it a day! Congratulations Sarah & Jason, and Thank You!

Brandy and Nick’s wedding will always be one we will never forget. Along with being able to film for a great couple and a great family, and not only were we able to get up close and personal with a new Rolls Royce Phantom (wow!), but Jess and I filmed this wedding on our 6 year anniversary! Mr. & Mrs. Lythgoe went above and beyond for to allow us to enjoy this beautiful evening as well. The Ceremony was held in Downtown Raleigh at The Church of the Good Shepherd and the Reception was at Brier Creek Country Club. A fabulous team of Pro’s surrounded the day led by Christobal from Azul Photography and the always awesome DJ Randy Pulley. The flowers were provided by Brides-and-Bouquets and Cake by Sweet Memories. One item that is overlooked at many wedding receptions is the lighting, but Nick and Brandy did not let this happen. They brought in Total Production Services which provided amazing lighting for all the events at the Reception. Not only did this create and dramatic effect for the guests, it also made their wedding video that much better! Brandy and Nick, thank you for allowing us to capture your day on the anniversary of ours!

Ali + Brett, A New Bern Wedding Film

What an amazing weekend we had filming Ali & Brett’s wedding! We started out filming the Rehearsal Dinner which included the best slideshow presentation I have ever seen during a Rehearsal Dinner! Mr. Kroeger definitely knocked it out of the park and if you are lucky he will show it to you! We started filming their wedding day around 6:00am with a very foggy sunrise overlooking the Neuse River. Then we headed to Ali’s parents house to catch her going for her (very early) pre-wedding jog. Hanging out with Ali and her family on the screened porch afterwards was unforgettable (they are such an amazingly fun family). The next stop was at Advanced Attractions Salon to catch Ali getting her hair done and the Hilton Riverfront where Brett and his groomsmen were getting ready. After a short lunch break, we headed back to Ali’s house along with her bridesmaids where they got ready and Fresh Photography took some amazing pictures in the beautiful backyard overlooking the water. The Ceremony was held at Garber UMC and the Reception next door at the New Bern Golf and Country Club. The Party Nuts Band kept the night alive as they always do!

This wedding will always stay at the top of my list as one of my favorite weddings I have ever filmed, not only because everything was so beautiful, but the people I met were amazing. Thank you Ali, Brett, and family for giving me the opportunity to capture your day!
